The MotherLode Volleyball Classic fell on a perfect weekend in 2010. On Labor Day, the last day of the tournament, there was not a cloud to be found in the sky. The finals game featured Ty Loomis and Casey Patterson defeating 2009 MotherLode Champions Jesse Rambis and John Moran in a 21-16, 21-13 victory.
Aspen photographer Brett Friel was there to capture all the action. The annual Food & Wine Classic was better than ever in 2010. Filled with seminars, tastings, parties, and endless pork, the weekend managed once again to exceed expectations. The 1st Annual Snowmass Automobili Exotica showcased some amazing cars this summer. Lamborghinis, Audis, Porsches, and Bentleys were a few of the luxury vehicles on display. Snowmass' BLAST THE MASS was the fifth stop for the 2010 Mountain States Cup Series. Several Aspen locals found spots on the amateur podium, and a few familiar faces ended up on top of the pro series podium. First place went to Jay Henry of Avon, second to Len Zanni of Carbondale, and third to Tim Allen of Boulder. Last year's winner, Lance Armstrong, was concurrently dropping out of the Tour de France after three crashes.

The International Chili Society holds two chili competitions and tastings in Snowmass, while microbrewers face off in a competition with two brew sampling sessions for festival-goers, featuring 50 plus breweries. The third annual CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational took place April 2 – 4, 2010 in Snowmass, Colorado. Gretchen Bleiler hosted, and Kelly Clark took home the top prize of $10,000 in the superpipe competition. The weekend also included a spa day, yoga classes, an environmental workshop and a girl’s night out on the town.
